Which do you find better, and why?

Personally, I like 1.6 better for overall style of gameplay. It takes more skill than source, in a way, and it's harder to control.. and that's why I like it =D Graphics may not be top of the line, but they're passable.. and it's easier to run, and steam isn't as gay for the half life engine than it is for the source engine.

Source of course better graphics are always a plus in game play, but I really wouldn't know if the controklls are harder than the original 1.6... Would you please define why is it that it is harder to control if you are able to change the configuration of your movement, sensitivity, or even the gameplay...

Also 1.6 and source to me it's only a small difference overall. So if I could have steam to constinly upgrade 1.6 then i wouldn't even bother to buy another version of C.S.

P.S.:
Steam is not bad, it's better to have steam included for C.S. than just C.S. alone. Plus it's a free downloaded program with news and free demos & upgrade available.

By harder, I mean in terms of gun recoil, mostly. Even when pulling down the mouse, it's a lot crazier than source. It's what makes it fun.

And steam is only bad when you run it for source engine - it kinda doesn't download maps and stuff correctly, or tell you that it is.. and it takes up some bit of ram.

Personally, I must vote for Source. I find it much more enjoyable then 1.6, don't ask me why because I don't really care.

Source of course have a very good graphics, and I mean animations of guns would just blow gamers like me away. I would certainly enjoy source, but see becuase of it's price and it's just an additional add-on, less people would prefere to play on it then they would on CS 1.6. About the gun recoil and stuff, i personally think that smal details like that wouldn't really matter the game play If you really are a good game player. Not that I am saying I am a Great game player, but I think that it's better if players would stick to the free updating of 1.6.

Dumbest, Topic, Ever.

1.6 Clearly surpasses Source in all ways except for graphics. Though, like you said, The graphics are passable. I still hold rank#1 on my favorite source server, I normally use AWP/Scout / Deagle. Thats just, sad, mostly its a scout. 1.6 IS way harder, more skill, and just overall funner.
